Designed for both new entrants with basic knowledge of building inspection and seasoned professionals seeking a refresher this training will focus on the specifics of residential timber-framed construction.

Timer Frame and Trusses:
Detailed review of the assessment and certification process for timber members under construction, addressing: 

  • AS 1684 - Acceptable construction manual, including limitations, bracing, tie-downs, timber specifications, and fitness for purpose. 
  • Truss Standards
    AS 1720.5- Design
    AS 4446 - Manufacture
    AS 4440 - Installation
    AS 4055- Wind Loading for Housing 
  • Examples of installed trusses that fail to meet these critical standards.

How to attend

  • During registration, please complete all required fields (marked with an asterisk) and click Save Responses to proceed to checkout.
  • After registering and completing payment, you will receive a unique access link by email a few days before the event. This link is for individual use and can only be accessed on one device.
  • All attendees must register individually to receive their own valid link.
  • Attendance is recorded and used to allocate CPD points. To ensure your attendance is captured correctly, log in using the email address and full name linked to your AIBS account.
  • For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome and a stable internet connection.

CPD information

CPD points are allocated based on verified attendance. Your attendance time is recorded during the webinar and must meet the required duration to be eligible for CPD.

To ensure your attendance is captured correctly:

  • Join using the email address associated with your AIBS account
  • Display your full name (avoid generic names such as “Guest” or “iPhone”)

Attendance certificates:

  • Event attendance certificates will be available in your AIBS account within seven days of the event. You will receive a notification once your certificate is available.
  • The name on your attendance certificate will appear as it is in your AIBS profile.

Group viewing arrangements must be approved in advance. CPD cannot be awarded without prior approval and individual registrations.
